Tim has 35 years’ experience as a communication strategist, stakeholder manager and crisis communicator. He leads SEC Newgate’s Agribusiness team. Tim has worked on major issues that have shaped Australia’s agribusiness industries, including the privatisation of commodity marketing, the introduction of GM crops, animal welfare, foreign investment in farming and food processing and now carbon farming and emissions reductions.
Tim has worked across the beef, sheep and wool, dairy, intensive livestock, grains, cotton and horticulture industries as both a journalist and communications advisor.
He has a deep knowledge of the production systems, technology, regulation and business structures of Australian agribusiness. Past and current clients include NAB Agribusiness, Boehringer Ingelheim, Syngenta, Monsanto, Meat and Livestock Australia, Dairy Australia, FutureFeed and the Australian Dairy Products Federation.
Prior to a career in corporate communications, Tim worked as a newspaper journalist for Rural Press Limited and as a media advisor to the Premier of NSW the Hon. John Fahey MP.
Tim holds a Bachelor of Arts (English and Agriculture) from Curtin University and a Masters of Public Affairs from the University of Sydney.
